So I'm at Staples to buy some canned air to clean my computer and while I'm buying it the assistant manager says that I can't buy it. Now all of a sudden I feel wigged out, "Why do I need to be 18 to buy canned air?" I think to myself with a confused look on my face.

"Show me your license," she snaps. So I do, I flip out my license, "Take it out so I can see it," again snapping. So I take it out and hand it to her. "You can't buy this, you're not 21."

"Huh?" I reply, then looking at the screen.

'...costumer must be 18 to buy this product under CT state law...' (i didn't get the law number so I can't look it up quickly)

"Oh, never mind," she stops snapping. and continues to charge me for the air.

I can hardly see the harm in buying compressed air to clean a computer. The only reason why I think they would regulate canned air is because some ransom hoodlum might try to make a bomb out of it. Heh, hardly my mind set when I want to clean my computer.

What other crazy age requirement laws does you're state have? Might you know the reasoning behind them?

Exclude alcohol and cigarettes, unless the age is different than 21/18, 'cause otherwise we already know that.

Now please excuse me while I clean my computer.

they have that age requierment cause jack@ss kids use that stuff to try and get high off it. here you have to be 18 to buy it. .

also thing ive learned about the can of air duster is. flip it upside down and the cold gas is flammable.. but prduces a gas that burns ur throat.

also in forida where i lived before here i couldnt buy some certain types of glue unless i was 18. dry ice has age limit at 18. thats all i can think of for now

Isn't all that's in the cans just pressurized air? Thus the liquid would be water vapor? The can doesn't say what the contents are...

I don't think anything inside of a can of CO2 is flammable.

However yes it is very cold if you turn it upside down and spray it. You can kill a layer of skin with a very small burst.

#1 reason for the age limit (only reason really) is because you can get very high off of it very easily (you can also die from it very easily, I've watched other people do it...) Just like spray paint, if you can huff the fumes, you can't buy it till your a certain age.

Well, i just happen to have a can of this right here... Twisted Evil

-It can be used to get high, as it says "Inhalant use is illegal and can cause permanent injury or be fatal."
-It can cause frostbite, as it says "Liquid contents may cause frostbite on contact with skin, therefore do not tilt, shake or turn can upside down before or during use."
-It doesn't say anything about being flammable, it just says that it may explode if it gets to hot
-It contains "difluoroethane," whatever the hell that is. Go look it up. Laughing

that stuff really burns your skin! Like a cold burn though. And I can vouch that lighting it on fire makes a vapor that burns your throat so that it closes up and you can't breathe. Other than that it's awesome! you spray people and see their reactions and run away (if neccessary)

Last time it was checked, dry ice is open to the public down here. I haven't really found age limits, but I have been scrutinized by many salespeople... I think medicines though, especially Tylenol (thanks to cheese, which is Tylenol and heroin) have a limit though. Good 'ol lawless Texas.

Why would you fill cans with ozone eating refridergent to be sprayed at stuff just to dust it off?

from wikipedia
"1,1,1,2-Tetrafluoroethane, also called simply tetrafluoroethane, R-134a or HFC-134a, is a refrigerant without an ozone depletion potential and thermodynamic properties similar to R-12 (dichlorodifluoromethane). It has the formula CH2FCF3, and a boiling point of −26.6 °C (−15.9 °F)"

"Other uses include plastic foam blowing, as a cleaning solvent and as a propellant for the delivery of pharmaceuticals (e.g. bronchodilators), canned air, and in air driers, i.e., for removing the moisture from compressed air"

but watch out, it will enlarge your balls!
"In a two-year inhalation study, HFC-134a at a concentration of 50,000 ppm, produced an increase in late-occurring benign testicular tumors, testicular hyperplasia and testicular weight."
