cant buy airsoft gun under age 16

I know it's a good while later, but for the record, I think they were having a problem with people "huffing" that stuff. Keep in mind that it is NOT compressed air, but rather a special gas mixture as Ben pointed out.

As for stupid age restrictions...I can't really think of any. They have a ban on airsoft/BB/Paintball guns here for anyone under 18. Frankly, I'm inclined to support it, judging by the level of responsibility I've seen.

Oh, and the legal drinking age is 18 here, can't argue with that.

Lucky you. In the UK, you have to be 18, and even then you either have to buy it in garish green, or have proof you're actually a long term member of an airsoft field.

The only thing here I don't like a restriction on, and I've only had this restriction in Wal-Mart, is being 18 to buy paintballs and airsoft BB's. I understand it on the guns and markers, but for just the ammo I think is silly. Everywhere here has a restriction on the guns and markers, but only Wal-Mart has a restriction on ammo. Wal-Mart is also the only place here with a restriction on R-rated films, super glue, and canned air.

In Italy the legal drinking age is 16, And Here in Vegas you have to be 18 to buy an airsoft gun, paintball gun, or bbs, or paintballs.

In texas we can buy shotguns at 18 (yay) and airsoft guns/gear whenever. Pressurized gas really is cold though, one time after me and some friends were airsofting we had a green gas fight. I got a little burn on my leg and the area smelled toxic.

In Oklahoma it's 18 for long guns, 21 for pistols, and 16 for paintball/airsoft.
